Shoot at f/5.6 or f/8 and it's as sharp as any lens out there, including L lenses.Having a 1.8 aperture means that, if you have to, you can shoot in low light levels, even indoors without a flash, without having to pump up your ISO too high (which causes noise).Being a prime lens (no zoom) it forces you to move, improving your composition skills.
